The bar graph and table shows fishermen
for different areas between 1970, 1980 and 2000 in millions, and top ten
exporters of fish in the world in 2000.
There was a dramatic increase in the
number of fishermen in Asia during the years 1970-2000 from 11million to 26
million, while in Africa the number of fishermen dropped rapidly from 12
million t0 3 million in the years 1970-2000. In addition, the number of
fishermen in South America remained the same at 8 million throughout the period
1970-2000. On the other hand, in North America the number of fishermen rose
rapidly from 5 million to 15 million between 1970-2000 and then it remained the
same to 2000. Moreover, in Europe the number of fishermen fluctuated in the
years 1970-2000. Furthermore, Thailand is the world’s top exporter of fish in
2000 and then comes Norway, while South Korea is the last fish exporter.
To conclude, the number of fishermen increased
in many regions except Africa where the number is decreasing. As we can see the
number of fishermen in Asia in 2000 is 26 million and it is the highest, that’s
why there are 5 countries from Asia in world’s top ten exporters.
