Portfolio Task-4

Nowadays, the media has a huge influence in changing people’s ideas or thinking. This essay will discuss the influence of media.

Sometimes, the media changes our thinking or way of life or how to dress. There are many types of media to watch or listen or communicate with people like social networking. When you watch something on the TV maybe it influences you to change something in your life. Moreover, when you discuss with people on an issue maybe these people change your thinking in the issue. For example, in UK they were discussing to destroy and steal from the supermarkets in Facebook and then they went out and did that. Furthermore, the media can change your thinking of sport teams or people all over the world, because you did not see them, but not all people change their minds.

However, there are many people who are influenced by their parents or brothers. For example, parents teach and influence children how to respect people or how to live in this world. In addition, as Muslim people we learned how to pray and we learned the basics of our religion from our parents and then we learned more from the Quran and school. For example, if the media supports euthanasia we will not change our minds because Islam does not allowed us to kill people. Also, our teachers and friends can influence on us by doing right things or bad things from bad friends.

To conclude, media can influence us, but there are other things that influence us more than the media. In my way of thinking everything in this life influences us, but we should use our minds to do the right things.

Portfolio task-3

The bar graph and table shows fishermen for different areas between 1970, 1980 and 2000 in millions, and top ten exporters of fish in the world in 2000.

There was a dramatic increase in the number of fishermen in Asia during the years 1970-2000 from 11million to 26 million, while in Africa the number of fishermen dropped rapidly from 12 million t0 3 million in the years 1970-2000. In addition, the number of fishermen in South America remained the same at 8 million throughout the period 1970-2000. On the other hand, in North America the number of fishermen rose rapidly from 5 million to 15 million between 1970-2000 and then it remained the same to 2000. Moreover, in Europe the number of fishermen fluctuated in the years 1970-2000. Furthermore, Thailand is the world’s top exporter of fish in 2000 and then comes Norway, while South Korea is the last fish exporter.

To conclude, the number of fishermen increased in many regions except Africa where the number is decreasing. As we can see the number of fishermen in Asia in 2000 is 26 million and it is the highest, that’s why there are 5 countries from Asia in world’s top ten exporters.
